Herb Duane is President of the Duane Corporation, a New England demolition firm, based in Boston, and also an owner of Rubble Makers, Inc. a demolition firm specializing in plant shut downs, and interior concrete breaking and excavating, serving nationwide customers. Herb writes a monthly demolition industry column for DemolitionUS.com.
Mr. Duane is the third generation of a family that started in the demolition business in 1919. In their 82 years in the demolition business they have handled many of the major demolition projects in Boston and New England.
Over the years the Duane’s have handled such projects as: Boston Central Artery, Scolly Square Redevelopment, Federal Reserve Bank, West End Redevelopment, Worcester Redevelopment Project. They have also handled large redevelopment projects in such cities as Lowell, New Bedford, Fall River, Brockton, to mention a few.
Herb Duane has experience in all phases of demolition from company management, estimating, to project management. He also has over 30 years experience in demolition consulting. This experience covers work for General Contractors, Federal Government Agency’s, industry, individuals, local governments, and non-profit organizations.
Mr. Duane has a unique background as a demolition contractor in that he is experienced with all types of demolition, which include, selective, interior, manual, mechanical, as well as implosion methods.
Herb Duane is well known throughout the Demolition Industry in the United States, as well as Europe. He is the founder of the National Association of Demolition Contractors, and has been elected a Fellow of the Institute of Demolition Engineers, Great Britain.
